Bergamot is the only note at the top of Rayhaan Ellwood, bright, zesty and gently bitter. Cypress and davana form the heart. Cypress is cool, green and resinous, giving the middle a crisp, forest-like freshness, while davana is fruity, herbal and faintly boozy.
Patchouli and cedarwood close the scent. Patchouli is earthy, and cedarwood dry and clean, so the base is woody and dark without being heavy. With five notes in all, the character is simple and green: a citrus lift, an aromatic and fruity middle, and then a dry, earthy wood.
Listed for men. The shop tags it for autumn, spring and summer, and for daily and work. A short, woody and aromatic note list suits a wearer who wants a plain, dry scent with a little fruit in the middle.
