Grapefruit and bergamot open Rayhaan Amazonica with a tart, zesty bite, the grapefruit sharp and juicy, the bergamot a touch rounder and more bitter. Ginger and patchouli follow in the heart, one warm and peppery, the other earthy and slightly damp, so the brightness is quickly given some ground.
Four materials share the base. Amber is warm and resinous, vetiver is dry and rooty, musk is soft, and ambroxan adds a smooth, mineral, slightly salty glow. The result is a scent that goes from sharp fruit to a clean, woody-amber finish with an earthy thread throughout.
Going by the notes alone, the character is tart grapefruit, spiced ginger and an earthy, ambery base. It suits anyone who likes a sharp start that calms into dry wood and soft musk, rather than a sugary or flowery scent.
Rayhaan Amazonica comes in a 100 ml (3.4 fl oz) bottle.
Rayhaan Imperia Legacy has aldehydes, coriander, clary sage and artemisia where Amazonica has grapefruit, ginger and ambroxan. The notes they share are bergamot, patchouli, amber, vetiver and musk.
The link with Rayhaan Adonis Icarus is bergamot, ginger, vetiver and musk. Amazonica sets grapefruit, patchouli, amber and ambroxan beside that, the other one orange, mandarin, neroli and pink pepper.
